As soon as we hear the term ‘Social Networking’, websites like Facebook and Twitter strike our minds. And if you ask someone what is social networking, the obvious answer would be that these are medium to connect with people we know or we want to know and we share our thoughts in form of text, pictures or videos etc. In short, we engage with people on this platform for enjoyment and masti.
Social networking used to be full of fun. However it has become a thing of the past. Nowadays all social networking sites are slammed with political messages, pictures and videos etc. A very high percentage of the content available on social networking sites are deliberate and thoughtful creation of political parties (or groups with political interests),who are either trying to build their own image or trying to ruin the reputation of their opponents, especially in India.
And, some of the groups have been using this platform in a big way and people with better team of content writers are reaping the benefits. They have found an amazing tool to reach us which is working extremely well for them. Yes..for ‘them’…
But what about us… people who still look at these sites as source of enjoyment or refreshment?
It’s okay if there are few advertisements blinking here and there luring us to buy something but it is not really funny seeing propaganda of political groups every time I login…man I logged in to see what my friends are up to!
And, most unfortunate part is that most of us end up liking, sharing or commenting on these contents. These contents have been developed by professional teams and experts so it is not easy to ignore them. But mind you, we end up doing it ..does not mean that we logged into the site for this only!
All those people who want to be next Mark Zuckerberg 🙂 …can we get a ‘true’ social networking site?
